Baruy Pangasinan Caravan
LINGAYEN---“Let us love our province, let us go back and restore the old and nice traditions and culture of Pangasinan.”
This has been the constant call of Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. to the people of Pangasinan especially the youth during the Baruy-I Love Pangasinan Movement held in San Carlos City last February 5 and the 4th district towns of Mangaldan, San Fabian, San Jacinto and Manaoag on February 6.
The Baruy tourism caravan which aims to promote tourism in the province also aims to renew our ties to our historic past and promote and preserve our cultural identity as Pangasinenses. As the governor says, “our development efforts would become meaningless if in the process of pursuing them, we will neglect and eventually lose our cultural identity as a province.”
The governor told the youth that “the things we are doing now is not for us but for the youth of today and the next generation.”
Gov. Espino noted with pride that after five years, the achievements earned by the province is leading towards its mission to become number one province in the country and its vision to become the best place to work, invest, live and raise a family.
Taking pride in all the development efforts of the provincial government in a span of 5 ½ years, he urged the people to visit the Capitol to see for themselves the great transformation of the Provincial Capitol including the provincial employees and the quality of work they render as public servants.
We can now be proud as Pangasinenses and we can boast about the progress and the various achievement of this province which has become the 4th Best Performing Province in the country, Pamana ng Lahi champion, Likas Yaman Awardee, Best Local Government Unit in Best Practices, Best in Local Governance and various other awards.
During the tourism caravan, Gov. Espino distributed a total of 6, 826 PhilHealth cards to San Carlos City and the towns of San Fabian and San Jacinto under the Provincial Sponsored Health Insurance Program of the province.
For the city of San Carlos, 3, 861 indigent families availed of the program while in San Fabian town there were 1, 779 recipients and 646 beneficiaries from San Jacinto town.
San Carlos City and the towns of Mangaldan, San Fabian, San Jacinto and Manaoag also received a tourism and information kiosk for each municipality to provide easy access to information about the town and the province especially for tourists and visitors.
