Lingayen --- The two nights of
celebrating the best environmental advocacies of Miss Earth International
beauties in the province of Pangasinan had been topped by Puerto Rican beauty
Darli Arni Pacheco and Tamerin Michelle Jardine of South Africa being hailed as
winners in the resort wear and long gown competitions hosted by the provincial
government.
Twenty-five-year-old
Pacheco is a beauty queen model who stands 6’1 while Jardine is a 25-year-old
stunner 5’10.5 in height.
Welcoming
the candidates in the province of Pangasinan, Governor Amado T. Espino Jr.
expressed elation over the chance to host the ladies in the pre-pageant
competitions noting that the environmental advocacies of the ladies are also
done by the provincial government in the province.
“I
hope that as you come home in your places, your good memories in the beautiful
province of Pangasinan will leave a lasting impression," Gov Espino said.
As
the coronation night on November 24 at the Versailles Palace in Alabang, Quezon
City draws nearer, both Pacheco and Jardine are racking up the points in the
pre-pageant competitions chasing up opportunities to secure spots in the
semi-finals.
Also
a top contender, Miss Czech Republic Teresa Fajksova, a 23-year-old beauty
queen who stands 5’11 was hailed first runner-up both in resort wear and long
gown.
Twenty-three-year-old
Miss Philippines Stephany Dianne Stefanowitz who stands 5’9 was hailed second runner-up
in the long gown competition while 21-year-old Mongolian candidate Battsetseg
Turbat who stands 5’10 was second runner up in the resort wear.
The
winners of the two segments received the following from the provincial
government: Php 30, 000, gold medal (winner); Php 20, 000, silver medal (1st
Runner-Up); and 10, 000, bronze medal (2nd Runner-Up). All the
winners received sashes and bouquets.
The
Miss Earth pageant celebrated along with the International Year of Sustainable
Energy for all gathered the strong participation of empowered ladies who are
devoted with their advocacies in preserving the environment.
Miss Earth beauties
composing group 1 are: from Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Botswana,
Brazil, Chinese Taipei, Colombia, Crimea, Czech Republic, Denmark, Equador, El
Salvador, England, Finland, Ghana, Indonesia, Japan, Mongolia, New Zealand, Nicaragua,
Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Reunion Island, Singapore, Slovak Republic,
South Africa, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago.
