Lingayen- - - The Pangasinan provincial government has allowed the Philippine Navy, Naval Forces Northern Luzon (PN-NFNL) based in Poro Point, La Union to occupy for another 10 years the two structures owned by the province located in Sual town.
In the regular session of the provincial board last March 9, the august body unanimously approved Provincial Resolution No. 12-42-2015 which authorizes Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the PN-NFNL for the use of a real property owned by province for ‘free.’
The NFNL which maintains a detachment unit in Sual religiously assists other government agencies in the enforcement of maritime laws at the territorial seas of Pangasinan and Zambales.
As such, the provincial board requested the naval force to further its cause in assisting the province with regards to naval operations especially during onset of calamities where casualties mostly include fisherfolks in the coastal towns of Infanta, Bolinao, Dasol and other western coastlines.
The NFNL headed by Commodore Severino Vicente T. David vowed to establish closer coordination with the officials of various western coastal municipalities, further improve their communication system and conduct more rescue and disaster operations training in the coming days.
