Lingayen-
- -Summer is more fun in Pangasinan with the inclusion of exciting side
events such as the 2012 National Outdoor Target Archery Championships
on April 28 to May 3 at the Capitol Driving Range here as one of the
featured spectacle in the province’s Triple Treat.
Sponsored
by the Philippine Archers’ National Network and Alliance (PANNA), Inc.,
more than 200 archers from Metro Manila, Baguio City, Cebu and other
key cities in Luzon are expected to join the tournament.
Modesto
Operania, Executive Assistant III and sports coordinator, said that the
tournament will serve as one of the “must watch and must experience”
activities this summer not only among the sports buffs but for everyone
who are seeking for excitement that will perk up their adrenaline this
summer.
Operania
said that the provincial government led by Governor Amado T. Espino,
Jr. fully supports such project as it complements the province’s sports
and youth development thrust to further promote the importance of
physical skills and prowess among the young generation. “Magandang
opportunity ito sa mga kabataan para ma-expose sila sa sports, maging
productive ang bakasyon nila, at mailayo sila sa hindi magandang bisyo,”
he noted.
It
will be recalled that the provincial government has institutionalized
the conduct of sports activities during the Pistay Dayat celebration.
This, according to Operania, will provide the young generation to spend
their summer vacation in a fruitful way and inculcate in their
consciousness the value of sports.
In
relation, Gov. Espino has set his sight on continuing sports and youth
development program thru Sports Academy which will be established after
the conduct of Palarong Pambansa 2012.
