Lingayen - - Knockout punches will be delivered inside the boxing ring during the 3rd Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. Cup (Paboksing ed Gulpo) slated on April 27, 3 p.m. at the Capitol Beachfront as part of Pistay Dayat 2012.
Executive Assistant III and Sports Director Modesto M. Operania said 40 amateur boxers will join the 20-bout tournament where winners will be awarded with gold medals and cash prizes while consolation prizes will also be given to non-winners.
Twelve lady-volleyball teams from different cities and universities in the country, moreover, will showcase their winning serves, pitches and spikes in a competition dubbed ‘Beach Volleybelles’ from April 29 to 30, 8 a.m to 5 p.m. at the Capitol Beachfront (back of Urduja House).
Donning sports bikinis, the volleybelles will come from De La Salle University (DasmariƱas), University of the East, College of St. Benilde, Assumption, Rizal Technological University, Perpetual College (Greater Manila Area), University of Luzon, Labrador National High School, St. Louis University, St. Columban’s College as well as local players from Mangaldan and Dagupan City.
Rep. Leopoldo Bataoil of the second district of Pangasinan, has invited six of the teams from Manila.
Cash prizes at stake are: P20,000 for the first prize, P10,000 for second prize and P2,000 consolation prizes.
