LINGAYEN---Twelve
young and adult Pangasinenses received recognition and awards from Gov.
Amado T. Espino, Jr. for winning in the Kurit Panlunggaring writing
contest, the 1st Pangasinan Literary contest launched by the province as one of the highlights of the 432nd Agew na Pangasinan foundation anniversary celebration last April 11.
Gov.
Espino who strongly pushes for the development of the Pangasinan
language has personally handed the trophies and cash prizes to the
winners whose entries were all written in the Pangasinan dialect in the
form of poems, short stories and essays.
Malu
Elduayan, tourism operations division officer said the Kurit
Panlunggaring seeks to develop Pangasinan literature by providing
incentives for professional and aspiring local witers from Pangasinan.
She
said this also aims to help preserve the Pangasinan language as well as
the Pangasinenses’ appreciation of their mother tongue in the written
form.
Top
winner in the short story writing (adult division) is Alex B. Fernandez
of Dagupan City whose entry “Say Toon Akalmo Say Toon Abalangan” won 1st prize with a cash of P15,000 and a trophy. Alvin S. De Guzman from Calasiao took the 2nd prize of P10,000 with his short story entitled “Babang.” Harvie C. Aquino’s entry “Miron” won a prize of P8,000 for the 3rd place.
For the poetry writing (adult division), Crissa P. Zamoranos, a lady from Calasiao grabbed the 1st prize of P10,000 for “Nanduruman Lupa’y Panangaro” with Bolinao’s Ana Lyn Soriano’s entry “Bilay” on 2nd place for P8,000 while Glenn Dale I. Pernes of Pozorrubio won 3rd prize with a trophy and cash of P5,000 for his poem entitiled “Saray Anlong nen Ezra.”
Essay Writing winners in the youth division include Ma. Loudel P. Biag of Dagupan City for 1st
place plus a cash of P8,000 and a trophy with her essay entitiled “Say
Pangasinan So Walad Pusok”; Jorge A. Aviles of Lingayen on 2nd
place with P5,000 cash and trophy for his entry “Mansiansia So Salita
ed Maligsan Literatura” and Danstan Lee I. Pernes from Pozorrubio with
his “Literaturan Pangasinan, Matalungaring tan Mayaman” winning 3rd prize receiving P3,000 cash and trophy.
Winners
in Poetry Writing (youth division) are Archimedes Reimann M. Cayabyab
of San Carlos City with his poem entitled “Sintemiyento na Salitan
Pangasinan” winning 1st prize with a cash of P5,000 and trophy.
Ma. Loudel Biag who was the grand winner in the essay writing division notched another prize as she placed 2nd with her poem “Balikas” winning another P3,000 while Jason Bustamante of Binmaley placed 3rd and a cash of P2,000 for his entry of “Puso’y Pilipinas Tan Arom Niran Anlong.”
