Lingayen
--- Ms. Tessie Lamar, reigning Queen of CONBUSAC (Confederation of
Boholanos in the USA and Canada) and Ms. CONBUSAC - Tourism Lorainne Galang
visited the province on May 28 to enjoy the ambiance of Pangasinan especially
as to touch base on how Pangasinenses gather brains and sprint in transforming
the province through Tourism.
Ms. Lamar,
a resident of Virginia, USA, said that “Pangasinan is a wonderful example of
what special potential the Philippines has.” “This place is amazing and the
work that has been done by the provincial employees here is fantastic,” she
added.
Ms.
Galang from Texas, USA and a first-time visitor in the province, noted she had
visited the provinces of Cebu, Davao, Bohol and Baguio City but stressed,
“Pangasinan is probably the cleanest and the most organized province in the
country.”
The two
beauties, together with Liza Flores of the special project office of the
provincial government of Bohol, were so much elated to visit the Narciso Ramos
Sports Complex and Center (NRSCC), the province’s premiere sports center and
the Capitol Plaza where the Provincial Capitol Building, known as the country’s
best stands.
Their
visit to Pangasinan was a part of the program of TBTK (Tigom Bolanon sa Tibuo
Kalibutan), a gathering of Boholanos around the world which happens once in
three years.
CONBUSAC
pageant, a biennial fund-raising activity, is conducted to help Boholanos in
the Philippines with the proceeds channelled to support development projects in
Bohol, especially in the aspects of tourism, agriculture and peace and order.
Flores
expressed the group’s gratitude for the warm reception accorded by Vice
Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan,
department heads and employees of the provincial government.
