Pangasinan Mayors Support Universal Health
Insurance for Indigents. Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. (center of
right photo) urges all mayors (left photo) to find appropriate tool that would
identify the true poor among the enrolees who are qualified to receive
PhilHealth insurance under the Sponsored Program during a consultative meeting
with local chief executives of Pangasinan last June 7 at the Capitol Resort
Hotel in Lingayen. The Governor made the
appeal following the signing of memorandum of agreement between the province of
Pangasinan and PhilHealth last June 4 that aims to provide universal enrolment of
indigent families in PhilHealth. Majority
of the mayors agreed to provide counterpart fund to pay the premiums of their
indigent constituents. With the Governor in right photo are:
