CATTLE RUSTLER KILLED IN AN ENCOUNTER IN URBIZTONDO

Pangasinan Police Provincial Office- in its intensified campaign against criminal groups and activities has encountered a group of cattle rustler ( thieves) at early morning of February 24, 2013 which resulted to the death of one suspect named Remegio Bulatao, 59 years old, married, farmer and a resident of brgy Balite Sur, San Carlos City.
At about 3:30 a.m. of February 24, 2013, personnel of Urbiztondo , Bayambang police station and Pangasinan Provincial Public Safety Company ( PPPSC) assigned at brgy Wawa, Bayambang Pangasinan acted upon a complaint that a large cow from brgy Batangcaoa, Urbiztondo Pangasinan was carted away by undetermined numbers of cattle rustler.

The personnel of two police station and PPPSC led by PSUPT GASTON M GAFONGTAN and PCI DOMINGO S EDEN launched an aggressive operation to recover the said cow and arrest of perpetrators. The group of police pursued the direction of the thieves and catch upon them at brgy Batangcaoa, Urbiztondo Pangasinan, however, suspects instead of surrendering instill to fire the policemen which resulted to retaliation of the latter.

The skills and determination of the police over thrown the suspects until the gun battle ended. During initial search on the crime scene, one suspect was found to have gunshot wound and was rushed to the Bolingit Hospital, San Carlos City but unfortunately declared dead on arrival at the hospital and latter identified the suspect by his relatives as Remegio Bulatao.

Further searched was conducted and recovered at the crime scene the following; two (2) live cows believed to be stolen from the owner, one (1) lifeless cow believed to be hit during the gun fight , one (1) improvised shotgun and one (1) hand grenade. In depth investigation is being conducted for the identification of other members of cattle rustler and identification of owners of the stolen cows.
