LINGAYEN --- The province of Pangasinan will be hosting the 6th National Venture Camp on May 5 to 10 at the Capitol beachfront with the theme “Scouting for Environment.”

Regional Director Imelda Samson of the Boy Scout of the Philippines, in her meeting with Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr., said the 5-day activity will be participated in by 4,500 participants from different regions.
These include the Northeastern Luzon Region, Central Luzon Region, National Capital Region, Southern Tagalog Region, Bicol Region, Western and Eastern Visayas Region, Western and Eastern Mindanao Region and Ilocos Region.

The Scout Venture Camp is an annual activity of the boy scout local councils which aims to provide opportunities for senior scouts to practice and enhance their physical, social, mental, emotional and spiritual potentials.

Samson added that it would also help the boy scouts to discover new more challenging, adventurous, and experiential learning activities.

Gov. Espino, regional chairman of the Boy Scout of the Philippines, expressed optimism that with the convergence of all local scout councils in the country, solidarity among the scouts will be more strengthened and readied for any challenges ahead.

Samson said this year’s activity will be focusing on trainings that will help the scout members to become environmentally-conscious and “always ready during disaster”.
