Lingayen --- The provincial government led by Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. praised the victory of two Pangasinense ladies whose recent feats became source of inspiration among Pangasinenses, most especially the young generation.

As a formal way of commendation, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) in its March 31 regular session passed Provincial Resolutions no. 508 and 520 series of 2014 congratulating Katrine Paula V. Suyat for being 7th placer of the 2013 Philippine Bar Examinations and Parul Shah, newly-crowned Binibining Pilipinas – Tourism.

The refine personality, sophisticated beauty and expansive minds of these two ladies who trace roots in Tayug and San Nicolas towns in eastern Pangasinan have once again made a lasting good impression for the province.

Suyat, a graduate of San Beda College Manila has gained the respect and admiration of her mentors, classmates and the entire Bedan studentry because of her wit, innate talent, knowledge and skills in her chosen field of expertise during her college days.

Meanwhile, Half-Indian Shah who competed in the Binibining Pilipinas 2014 made a jaw-dropping showing in the swimsuit competition, exuded elegance in the evening gown segment and nailed the question and answer portion -- these sterling performances gained her Bb. Pilipinas – Tourism title, besting 39 other candidates in a pageant night held at the Araneta Coliseum, March 30.

Shah gained her BS Nursing degree at the University of the Cordilleras in Baguio City.

“The two Pangasinan ladies have undoubtedly made a difference. They epitomize the youth of today… excellent examples to the young generation to aspire to become successful individuals,” Board Member Ranjit Shahani, author of the provincial resolution, said.

BM Shahani, who watched the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 coronation night at the Araneta Coliseum cited Shah’s award as “an honor to Pangasinenses… being named among most beautiful women in the archipelago.”

Meanwhile, the commendation resolution describes Suyat’s accomplishment as “a journey of a thousand miles in her quest for success, which she began with quality education, perseverance and determination.”

Being proclaimed as Bb. Pilipinas Tourism, Parul, who assumes a role in promoting tourism in the country, would be willing to support the forthcoming Limgas na Pangasinan beauty competition of Pistay Dayat celebration, the Board Member said.

Prior to the pageant, the Pangasinense beauty queen made a courtesy call to Gov. Espino and asked for the support of Pangasinenses in her beauty title bid.
