Lingayen- - -Beauty with substance perfectly describes Alyssa Ashley Calimlim, this year’s Limgas na Pangasinan.
The 19 year-old lady from Villasis bested 24 other lovely and witty candidates in this year’s Limgas na Pangasinan quest with her charm and intelligence as she also romped off with minor awards as Miss Photogenic and Best in Long Gown.
Calimlim is a B.S. Tourism student at the Saint Louis University in Baguio City and a consistent beauty titlist since her high school days.
Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. congratulated the winners in the most prestigious pageant in the province even as he said that the 25 ladies best exemplify the best things in Pangasinan specifically its culture, history, tradition and people.
“We are blessed with free gifts like beautiful people like this beautiful ladies who give valuable contribution to our culture and tradition, the sea and the environment which need to be taken care of for the next generations,” the governor cited.
The other two candidates who made it as runner ups were cum laude, registered pharmacist and currently taking up medicine proper at St. Louise University in Baguio, Princess Khrista Ventura of Sison (1st runner-up) who was also chosen as Miss Friendship; and Tourism student of the University of Luzon, Yaldene Ferrer of Lingayen (2nd runner-up).
Minor awards include the following: Jacqueline Macatiag of Sual (Darling of the Press and Best in Talent), Apple Joy Bacay of Alaminos City (Best in Creative Costume), Carla Exclamador of Lingayen (Miss MSE), and Crystal Kim Mararac of Dagupan City (Best in Swimsuit).
The title holder took home a cash prize of P100,000 while the two runner-ups pocketed P70,000 and P50,000.
