Lingayen --- Some 14 groups in the province received Php1.82m loan assistance from the provincial government on March 26 during a courtesy call to the Governor.
Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. handed over the cash assistance to Presidents and General Managers of recipient groups with a total of 734 individuals benefitting from the existing programs and projects of the associations.
Gov. Espino vowed to support the groups through the continuing loan assistance program of the provincial government. The beneficiaries in response thanked the provincial government for the said assistance.
Beneficiary groups include three KALIPI associations from barangays in Mangatarem -- Sonson Ongkit (Php100,000 for farm inputs and commodity trading); Malabobo (Php140,000 for commodity trading); and Dorongan (Php150,000 for commodity trading).
Other beneficiary groups are from Manaoag -- San Ramon KALIPI Association (Php100,000 for commodity trading) and Lelemaan Women’s Association (Php150,000) for re-lending; Pozorrubio -- Cablong KALIPI Association (Php80,000 for commodity trading) and Palacpalac Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Php150,000 for re-lending); Aguilar -- Buer Rural Women’s Association (Php100,000 for farm inputs and commodity trading); Sta. Barbara -- Pangasinan Women Development, Inc. (Php100,000 for commodity trading and food processing); Sta. Maria -- Sta. Maria Women’s Association (Php150,000 for commodity trading);
Three others from Urdaneta City (Moonlight Multi-Purpose Cooperative), Asingan (Masaganang Ani Multi-Purpose Cooperative), San Manuel (‘D Highlights Agri-Business Multi-Purpose Cooperative) each received Php 150,000 as farm input subsidy.
SAmahan ng Nagkakaisang Tricycle Operators and Drivers ng Isla ng Anda (SANTODIA) with 404 tricycle driver/operator members received Php150,000 as cash assistance for spare parts and tire supply.
SANTODIA, having the biggest number of beneficiaries, mobilizes operations to inspire its members “to aspire and dream more” enroute to the association’s becoming a model TODA (Tricyle Operators and Drivers Association) transport cooperative.
“Supportive and LGU at provincial government sa aming programa at proyekto para sa ikabubuti ng mga tricycle drivers and operators ng Anda,” Darlina Caranay, SANTODIA General Manager, said.
Pastor Ruben Caoili, SANTODIA President, said a Tricycle Management Code in Anda as approved by the Sangguniang Panlalwigan was crafted in 2013 to protect, support and legitimize operations of their transport group.
“What we need to do now is to empower our TODA through instilling proper knowledge, discipline and good relations among our members,” Caoili added.
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) FDL Swarovski Fashion Accessories and EMS Leather Craft, both from Binalonan, each received Php100,000 for fashion accessories marketing and leather craft business. /MGNO
