Gov. Espino Lauds Sacrifices of Hospital Staff

LINGAYEN - Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. lauded the hospital staff for having performed well in serving the people of Pangasinan extending all efforts and sacrifices to give their utmost service especially to the poor.

Citing quality health care as a priority project of his administration, Gov. Espino noted that this spells the legacy that he wants to leave especially to the sick and yet are poor.

During the culminating ceremonies of the 2nd batch of the Hospitals Team Building 2014 on August 28 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center, he thanked the hospital workers for working hard to meet the people's needs despite the influx of patients seeking the services of the government hospitals which the present leadership painstakingly upgraded and rehabilitated to cater to the needs of the poor, sick and destitute Pangasinenses.

The governor said the provincial government has allocated the biggest percentage of the province's funds for hospital services.

With at least 35 to 40 percent of the provincial government's funds being allocated to health service, Gov. Espino believes that Pangasinan is the only province that gives utmost attention to areas of health concern.

He also underscored the importance of human resource and the province's natural resources which he noted as the two most important assets of Pangasinan.

He likewise urged everyone of the health personnel to value their human assets and improve their capabilities to excel more in the professions that they have chosen.

"Matatalino, magagaling at masisipag ang mga Pangasinense, magaganda ang ating mga natural resources and we can improve that," the governor said as he lamented that our previous leaders seemed to have neglected the province for not having established the basic infrastructure that a community should have to propel it to greater development.

However, the chief executive of Pangasinan expressed with pride that despite the absence of such facilities, Pangasinan has eventually achieved its vision to make this province the "best place to invest, work, live and raise a family" and mission to make it number one.

The province's achievements have been felt in various parts of the country where other provinces toured to Pangasinan to study its best practices especially in health.

These include Cebu, Bohol and Oriental Mindoro and some other provinces who visited here to benchmark the province in other aspects of governance.

Meanwhile, Provincial Administrator Rafael Howard Baraan told the team building participants to have a strategic direction attuned to the provincial vision and mission for, only then, that everyone will be able to achieve their goal by ably working together with a common goal as what Gov. Espino did upon his assumption to the provincial seat.

He said that with the clear definition of what direction Gov. Espino's administration is heading, the provincial administrator said "we have in so many ways achieved the dreams of fulfilling the vision and mission that guided the governor in his governance of the province."

Baraan said we won't be where we are today if not for an effective and respectable leader.

"We have one basic true leader in the person of Gov. Espino," Baraan said.
